VP Finance
Grant C.
Born and raised in Toronto, I am currently in my 4th year at the University of Ottawa, pursuing a degree in finance. I grew up playing various sports, with a particular passion for hockey. I was previously involved with Heroes Hockey, focusing on teaching kids how to play hockey while instilling the values of listening, respect, discipline, and having fun.
Recently, I have shifted my focus to swimming, recognizing it as a vital skill not accessible to everyone. As a business owner and founder of Hoops Ottawa, I bring a wealth of experience to the S.W.A.M. team, aiming to help achieve our mission of providing swimming lessons for all.
VP Equity
Courtney M.
I am a late-diagnosed AuDHDer [autistic ADHD] who, like many others, received my diagnosis after my oldest child was diagnosed with autism. I have three wonderful autistic daughters with varying support needs, which has deepened my understanding of the diverse needs, supports, and services available to people with disabilities in Ontario.
I hold a Developmental Service Worker Diploma from Algonquin College and have experience as an educational assistant, as well as supporting adults with dual diagnoses and complex needs. Currently, I am in my fourth year of my Bachelor of Arts Honours in Psychology at Carleton University.
My goal with S.W.A.M. Ottawa is to create an inclusive, neuro-affirming environment and remove barriers to ensure that participants are supported and can reach their full potential while having fun in their lessons
